First Light for Sight - Arctic Challenge 2024
Kirstin Conroy
My Story
Hi everyone, 2 more sleeps before I head for the Arctic and temperatures are falling lower than -30 ! Brrrr. Please help me to make each freezing step worthwhile and donate today to give the gift of eyesight . Trachoma causes the eyelashes to scrape against the eye, causing excruciating pain and eventually, sight loss. It can be treated ! Your donation is worthwhile!
As a result of my fundraising efforts, I hope to raise enough funds to allow at least 156 people to receive sightsaving operations. As a mother I just can't imagine how heart wrenching it would be to look at the face of my suffering child and know that there is help available if I could afford it. Please help me provide the wonderful gift of sight to some of the worlds most vunerable people.
Throughout my life and from my past experience working with children in orphanages abroad I have seen the struggles children and adults have to suffer because of debilitating eye conditions.
Sightsavers aims to address this by providing eye surgery and training eye care workers to provide vital treatment. Since their work began, they have helped to carry out more than 11 million sight-saving eye operations.
I feel honoured to take part in this challenge To help me support Sightsavers change even more lives by providing sight restoring operations please donate!
